Parliament has now broken up for the summer recess. This means that there is no legislative business in the House of Commons so that MPs can spend a few weeks focusing completely on their constituencies.

Earlier this month, I had the huge privilege of meeting Clifford Swain. He is one of the many ex-servicemen who have been awarded the Legion of Honour, the highest French order of merit, for his service in the liberation of France during the Second World War.

Knight backs calls for Police Covenant

Local MP Julian Knight demanded on Sunday the next Prime Minister commits to giving West Midlands Police officers a guarantee in law they will be looked after both in and out of the job – as police bosses up and down the country pledge their support to the growing campaign.
