Defending Our Green Belt

Julian Knight recognises the importance of striking the right balance between developing our town and defending the environment.

He supported proposals by Andy Street, the Conservative candidate for Mayor of the West Midlands, to adopt a regional ‘brownfield first’ development policy, backed by a £200 million development fund.

This would allow for vital homes to be built on ex-industrial sites such as PowerGen whilst making sure our green spaces are protected for the community to enjoy.

Julian has also worked hard to make sure that local people have their say on new developments, such as last Christmas when he got Solihull Council to extend their public consultation on the new Elmdon cycle path.
