Securing our Local NHS

Our local, life-saving health services are one of the issues most frequently raised with Julian by residents, and they have been one of his to priorities since before he was first elected to serve Solihull in Parliament.

He campaigned hard to make sure that Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust delivered the new Urgent Care Centre they promised – and despite much foot-dragging, it is finally open.

Julian has also been in close contact with both the Department of Health and the leadership of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust after the latter were called in to take over the running of Solihull’s health services.

He strongly supports moves to formally merge the two, and has actively lobbied ministers and the Prime Minister both to seek progress and to obtain assurances about the services under UHB’s management, which include Solihull Hospital.
